About Miriam Acosta, DDS
Dr. Miriam Acosta considers herself a Bay Area native, living here since she was one year old. She had a dream of becoming a dentist since grade school, and studied hard to achieve that goal. She is a proud graduate of Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, California, and the University of the Pacific in Stockton. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Sciences Degrees from the University of California, San Francisco. She has been in her practice for over 20 years. Dr. Acosta has always valued education and continues to study many hours a year through study clubs and various dental affiliations. She currently studies with the Spear Study Club and Institute, and the Silicon Valley Dental Study Club. She has completed years of comprehensive training with the UCSF Academy of Cosmetic, Restorative and Adhesive Dentistry, and the Pride Institute of Dental Management. She is an active member of the Santa Clara Dental Society, California Dental Association (CDA), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Acosta gives her time, talent and treasure to the community, and has been a tireless volunteer since her high school days. She currently serves as a board member in the Bellarmine Mothers’ Guild, the National Charity League – Orchard Valley Chapter, and the Junior League of San Jose. She has also worked with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Cupertino Community Services, Saint Simon School and Parish, Saint Francis High School, and Na Wai Ola Halau. In her free time, Miriam enjoys spending time her family. They love to travel and do anything outdoors. She and her husband, Rick, have run many marathons together, and run several times a week at Rancho San Antonio. She loves reading, working out, and photography. Rick and Miriam are busy getting their kids, Mackenzie and Joey, through high school and hopefully into college!
