Prior to this, he received a B.S. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and completed graduate studies in Biochemistry and Physiology at Wayne State University. Dr. Busuito’s post-graduate training included residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He was the Chief Administrative Resident in both specialties. Kids in Need Deserve Necessary and Essential Surgical Services Dr. Michael J. Busuito and other physicians working with Operation KINDNESS travel to foreign countries to provide surgical care to children suffering from severe deformities (mostly cleft lips and palates) that would otherwise go untreated due to lack of medical care and technology in their homeland. The children treated by Operation KINDNESS are the poorest of the poor, without its services, these kids would have little to no chance of leading a normal life. Operation KINDNESS travels to areas where the need is greatest and continues returning until all the children are treated. For the past ten years, Operation KINDNESS has been traveling to southern Mexico near Guatemala despite the dangers presented by the ongoing drug war and violence in Mexico.
