About Melvin M. Maclin, MD
Dr. Melvin M. Maclin, II is a native of Chicago. He received his undergraduate degree with highest honors from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated top in his class in medical school from Howard University College of Medicine and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical Honor Society. He then fully completed his training in general surgery at Howard University Hospital with two years of research at the National Institutes of Health. He finished his many years of surgical training at Washington University School of Medicine’s Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. During his tenure, he was twice named “Teacher of the Year.” Since joining Parkcrest Plastic Surgery, he has been recognized as one of St. Louis’ prestigious ”Top Doctors” in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 2008. In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Maclin is the father of two, the founder of Innovative Medical Software, and a former international competitor as a second-degree black-belt in Taekwondo; he is currently working on his black belt in Aikido. He is also the immediate past Vice-President of Gateway to Hope, a charitable organization dedicated to providing complete and comprehensive care to women with breast cancer without insurance. At the Parkcrest Plastic Surgery office, Dr. Melvin Maclin offers plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgery to patients across Eastern Missouri. He specializes in breast reconstruction, cosmetic surgery, body contouring, tummy tucks, and liposuction. Dr. Maclin frequently lectures across the United States on reconstructive techniques as a consultant for KCI and LifeCell.
