About Mary T. Pentel, MD
Dr. Mary Pentel is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who graduated from the Pennsylvania State University as a University Scholar with a major in Biology. She earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State University, graduating in the top of her class with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Pentel completed her residency in the dermatology department at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Pentel began practicing in Jacksonville in 1998. She founded Southside Dermatology in 2000. Throughout the years, she has treated thousands of patients and is known for her energy, humor, and passion for dermatology. Her success can be attributed to her willingness to listen to each patient, taking time to understand their dermatological needs and to educate them on the practices that will promote healthy, beautiful skin. Dr. Pentel strives to exceed her patient's expectations in medical, general, and cosmetic dermatology. She is skilled in a variety of lasers and injectables including BOTOX®/Dysport® and dermal fillers. At The Spa & Laser Center at Southside Dermatology, Dr. Pentel performs all injections of Botox/Dysport/Xeomin and all filler injectables. Her cosmetic consultations are comprehensive and include a plan that will help you look your best at any age. Dr. Pentel enjoys combining aesthetic and science to achieve a natural and radiant appearance. She is proud of her staff and believes they are a driving force behind the success of her practice. Her patients have always praised her for selecting a team of caring, friendly, and hardworking individuals. They strive to make each patient's experience a positive one. Dr. Pentel is active in her community by volunteering in many community organizations and serving on several civic and educational boards. She is passionate about starting her fundraising event, ""Purses with a Purpose"" (www.pursewithapurpose.org) to benefit the abused women of Hubbard House. She is developing a program to raise awareness in children regarding skin cancers and sun protection with the Skin ""Smart Kids Program."" Dr. Pentel is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Society for MOHS Surgery (ASMS) and a member of the Jacksonville Dermatological Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery (ASMLS). She has been featured in Jacksonville Magazines ""Top Docs"" edition for several years. In her free time (if she has any), she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
