About Luis Galvan, DDS
Few dentists grow up in a household where both mom and dad were dentists! Dentistry had always been a goal for Dr. Luis Galvan, and with that kind of beginning, he had no choice but to follow in their footsteps. Born in Mexico City, he attended UniTec University and graduated at the top of his class. He completed an Advanced General Practice Residency program in San Antonio and returned to Mexico City. He started to practice there in 1994 and was appointed to the UniTec Dental School faculty early in his dental career. A clinician with varied interests, he quickly expanded to three practices and a commercial dental laboratory. Dr. Galvan pioneered dental implants in Mexico and had soon placed over 10,000 implants, flying from practice to practice providing advanced dental services for general dentists around Mexico City. Dr. Galvan continued his education in sedation dentistry, cosmetics, implant dentistry, bone grafts, and orthodontics. Today, he is an accomplished dental clinician with a dental skillset matched by few other clinicians. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, ICOI, ADA, ADM, AGD, Academy of Osseointegration, the San Antonio Dental Society, and Durango Hospital, to name a few organizations. Throughout the years, he has received the Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award, BW Implant Company Award and the prestigious “25 Best Implantologists of Mexico” Award. Dr. Galvan is fluent in Spanish, English, and French. He enjoys scuba diving, karate, and rowing, and loves traveling with his family. Currently, he is pursuing his pilot’s license. As a clinician, he is caring and patient, and believes that “everyone deserves a beautiful smile!
