About Katheryn Swingle, Tattoo Specialist
The name Negra Linda comes from Katheryn, the owner and lead artist's childhood nickname, she is called Negra by her family for her dark skin and wanting to incorporate something personal and meaningful into her business she gave it a sense of her. Growing up Katheryn painted and drew but truly fell in love with art when she entered into her first tattoo studio at the age of nine. Amazed by all the vibrant colors, intricate designs, and the eccentric personalities she became mesmerized with the vibe and culture of the tattoo community. Katheryn pursed cosmetic tattooing as a career and received her microblading training in Huntington Beach but found her true passion in restoration work where she learned scalp micropigmentation (SMP) through Ink Barber in Langley, BC and scar/camouflage training from Rodolpho Torres. Through restoration work Katheryn has been able to renew her clients' sense of confidence and moral, breaking them out of their shell and giving them back a piece of themselves. Seeing her clients blossom through these transformations is what has become the heart and soul of this shop. After spending a decade in the Marine Corps, she attended National University earning a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and a Master's in Homeland Security.
