About Jignesh M. Patel, DDS
Dr. Patel opened Schaumburg Dental Studio in 2004, seven years after completing his dental degree at the University of Illinois. Although he initially pursued a PhD in Engineering, Dr. Patel was discouraged by the isolation of pure research, and found joy in the hands-on, social, and charitable work of dentistry. In his practice at SDS, Dr. Patel combines a strong background in Material Science, love for people and his community, as well as an initiative for positive action. Dr. Patel’s commitment to patient care is manifest in his use of the latest dental technologies, and the cultivation of an educated and caring staff. In addition to receiving his Orthodontic Certification in 2009, Dr. Patel has also done extensive research on TMJ and sleep apnea oral appliances. He holds his assistants and staff to the same standards, personally providing training in services and procedures that encourage them to take ownership over their work and grow as professionals. This also allows him to devote his attention to greater dental and business challenges while maintaining a higher standard of care. For Dr. Patel, SDS is ultimately a gesture of goodwill towards his community and the world. Since immigrating to the US in 1976, Dr. Patel has been extremely grateful for the opportunities he has received in this country, and appreciates the diversity of experiences found in the Schaumburg community. He has now lived in the Western suburbs of Chicago for most of his life. Through the quality of his dental practice and charitable activity, Dr. Patel hopes to be remembered for his selfless, positive impact on society.
