About Jeffrey Schmelter, DMD
Dr. Schmelter started his career as an administrator for a Northern Arizona not-for-profit organization working with Developmentally Disabled adults. Realizing his clients’ lack of dental education and oral health instruction, as well as a general lack of access to care, he decided to provide instruction in basic oral hygiene and daily life skills. Soon after, his clients began calling him “Dentist Jeff” and he quickly realized his true calling. His college career began at Rutgers University in New Jersey where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree. Following, he attended Midwestern University-Glendale and completed a Masters degree in Biomedical Science. He then went on to Midwestern University-Illinois where he completed Dental School and obtained his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. After Dental School, Dr. Schmelter pursued a post-graduate General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Hospital. After completing his residency, Dr. Schmelter decided to return home to Phoenix and go into the private sector with a passion for compassionate, pain-free dental care. Dr. Schmelter enjoys all aspects of oral surgery, IV sedation, fixed prosthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and Implantology. In his free time, he enjoys his family, movies, golfing, bowling, music and his pups, Nala and Nika.
