About Frank Cortese, DDS
Dr. Frank Cortese is a Bay Area native and former El Cerrito little leaguer. Dr. Cortese was actually born at Alta Bates Hospital while his parents were still living downstairs at the office. Dr. Cortese is the second of ten children of Dr. Joseph Cortese. Dr. Frank Cortese’s grandfather ran the Cortese Pharmacy (with Dr. Frank Cortese’s uncle) on the corner of Solano and San pablo for 54 years. Dr. Cortese attended San Jose State University under a full academic scholarship. He graduated in the top ten in his class at the University of Maryland Dental school and then attended residency at the University of Colorado. During his residency he studied orthodontics. Dr. Cortese enjoys all aspect of dentistry, but takes special interest in aesthetic procedures and full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Cortese has since practiced dentistry with his father and Dr. Selway in both the Albany office as well as the one in Fremont. Dr. Cortese is a proud husband and father of four children and has nine siblings that all live locally. He enjoys spending his off time coaching and hanging out with his huge family! He met his wonderful wife in dental school.
