About Eric Westergard, DDS
Dr. Westergard was born in Orem, Utah and grew up in Burley, Idaho. His desire to help other people and his interest in biology, healthcare, and cosmetics drew him to the dental field. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology with minors in Physics and Chemistry from BYU-Idaho. After attending BYU-Idaho, he went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Dentistry and then joined the Air Force, which allowed him to serve our country as a dentist for 5 years. During his time in the Air Force, he completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, which certified him to do many advanced surgical and cosmetic dental procedures. He is particularly skilled at oral surgery, periodontal surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, TMD, sleep appliances, and pedodontics. His service in the Air Force then continued at Beale Air Force Base, California. During his time there, he discovered his passion for getting patients out of pain as well as finding a passion for oral surgery. In addition, he found that he thoroughly enjoys cosmetic procedures and making patients’ smiles beautiful. Dr. Westergard learned Spanish on his LDS mission to Spain, and because he now speaks fluent Spanish, he enjoys traveling to Latin America to perform dental humanitarian work. He also enjoys reading, camping, hiking, rafting, paintball, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 5 children. Out of the 5 children, 3 are triplets! Dr. Westergard has a positive, never-quit attitude, and his family and friends would describe him as diligent. One of his proudest achievements is having an article published in the Journal of the American Dental Association.
