About David S. Hancock, DDS, FACD
Dr. Hancock has practiced in Scottsdale AZ. for 43 years. He established his practice in Scottsdale AZ in 1976, immediately following graduation from Northwestern University Dental School. He has a general practice, however, the majority of his time is spent in the area of comprehensive restorative dental care, the treatment of TMJ disorders and minor to moderate orofacial pain disorders. Dr. Hancock completed advanced training at the L.D. Pankey Institute in 1982, and The Dawson Center in 1989, and has been studying with Dr. Terry T. Tanaka since 1996. Dr. Hancock also has a dedicated interest in dental research, and currently is a member of two separate research groups. Besides his time in his office, and participating in dental research, Dr. Hancock spends thirty days a year in continuing dental education so he can provide the latest in excellent dental care for his patients.He has been a member of AES for twenty years. He has been a member of the AES Scientific Investigation Committee since 1999 and served as chairman from 2004~2012. He is also a member of the AES Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2006, and has served as AES Secretary, Vice President and President-Elect, and President. AES is the world leader in the study of occlusion and temporomandibular(TMJ) disorders and comprehensive care. In addition to his membership in AES, he holds membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Orofacial Pain, is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the American Dental Association. Dr. Hancock speaks annually on the topics of TMJ disorders, dental occlusion and head and neck anatomy.
