Dr. Colleen Shandley was born and raised in Barrington. She attended Lines Elementary School, Station Middle School and graduated from Barrington High School in 2011. She is the youngest of the three daughters in the Shandley family. As the youngest daughter, Dr. Colleen learned to have patience, listen closely, and to relate to others. She loves to take the time to get to know her patients, so that she can provide them with personalized treatment options and ensure that they have an overall comfortable experience. Following her education at Barrington High School, Dr. Colleen was accepted into an accelerated Pre-Dental Scholars program at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. In 2015, she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. She then graduated cum laude from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2018. During her dental school education at Marquette University, Dr. Colleen participated in three dental mission trips to Jamaica, during which she provided dental care to patients in underserved communities. She has also participated in local outreach programs to provide free dental care to patients in need through the Illinois and Wisconsin Mission of Mercy events. She is inspired to continue to use her skills in dentistry to help those in need. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Colleen went on to complete a hospital-based General Practice Residency Program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She completed the advanced training in 2019. Dr. Colleen is excited to now join the family dental practice with her parents Dr. Steve Shandley and Dr. Elizabeth Kane.
