About Carole A. Medvesky, DMD
Dr. Carole Medvesky first knew she wanted to become a dentist during her high school years in Western Pennsylvania. “Get an education” and “Take care of your teeth” were the two mantras she heard growing up as a coal miner’s daughter. Majoring in biology at Washington & Jefferson College she graduated with honors. She attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where she was awarded the American Equilibration Society certificate. Soon after graduation, Dr. Medvesky ventured to sunny Tampa, Florida where a one year general practice internship awaited her. She completed this program, passed the Florida dental board, and began private practice all within a few months. Dr. Medvesky is grateful to the mentors along her journey, both in the academic environment as well as private practicing dentists who taught and inspired her to strive to do her best, as they shared their wisdom and encouragement. In 1985 Dr. Carole settled in Clearwater to practice dentistry and adopted the mission statement to provide Gentle Personal Care to all her patients. She moved to her present location in May 1988. Her love of the profession is evident in her work, her relationship with patients, and the desire to continuously learn and improve. As early as 1986 she was recognized by the Florida Academy of General Dentistry for surpassing the required hours of continuing education well above the required amount. Dr. Medvesky has maintained active membership status since 1985 in American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, Upper Pinellas Dental Association, and since 2013, the Academy of Laser Dentistry. She also volunteers her services at Gulf Coast Dental Outreach in Tampa and Community Dental Clinic in Clearwater, both facilities dedicated to the care of the indigent. Dr. Medvesky enjoys presenting to elementary school classrooms regarding the importance of dental health, as well as dental health updates at Assisted Living Facilities. For the past several years, she has served as a Sea Glass Sponsor for the Florida Suncoast Hospice Foundation’s annual Beach Stroll. Dr. Medvesky is a member of Zonta Club of Pinellas, a local chapter of Zonta International, a global organization dedicated to empowering women through service and advocacy. She is an active member of her church as a cantor and as a religious educator. Ballroom dancing, clogging, hockey, and bird-watching are among her favorite past-times.
