About Carlos Lopez, DMD
Dr. Lopez is a 2005 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is originally from Long Island New York, and completed his general practitioner residency at SUNY Stony Brook in 2006. He is also a SPEAR-trained dentist, meaning that he assesses dental problems as they relate to patients’ underlying conditions, overall health, and health history. This detective work allows him to assess the true causes of his patients’ dental problems, not just treat them on the surface. With this information, he can educate his patients on how to prevent, restore, or avoid further complications in the future. Each year, Dr. Lopez completes extensive training and courses related to modern procedures and technology. Over the past decade, he has earned more than 800 credit hours. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Spear Faculty Club. Even with all of this training, he still believes a picture can be nearly as valuable. That’s why we implement high resolution imaging into every patient exam and consultation… so that you can see exactly the same thing that he does. This enables you to co-plan your care with Dr. Lopez, and to see for yourself what is going on with your teeth. As a busy father and husband, Dr. Lopez also enjoys family man activities, like coaching little league and chasing his three children around. He’s also an avid football fan, practices karate (with a mouth guard, of course!) and enjoys hiking when the weather permits.
