About Yen N. Lieu, DDS
Dr. Lieu holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in NeuroPhysioBehavior from University of California, Davis, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston. While she studied to become a dentist, she became a certified Dental Hygienist. After graduating from Dental School, Dr. Lieu continues her dedication to excellence. Each year she devotes a substantial portion of her time attending advanced continuing education courses. She has been pursuing advanced training in Early Orthodontic Treatment with the United State Dental Institute for more than 2 years. Dr. Lieu has been certified in Invisalign braces, Implant Restorative, and Lumineers. Dr. Lieu was recognized by the Consumer’s Research Council of America as American’s Top Dentists since 2003. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, The United State Dental Institution, and the Sacramento Dental Society. Dr. Lieu makes North Natomas her home with her husband and two sons, ages four and six. The path to her current practice is the key to her caring approach. Dr. Lieu took an interest in dentistry at age five. She put that interest aside for five years from ages 13 to 18 when she became a Buddhist nun. She wanted to do good in the world. Although she decided the convent was not her life’s path, she believes it made her a better person. She now does volunteer dentistry at the temple where she used to live and is part of the Smile For Kids team to provide free dentistry to children who “fall between the cracks” in healthcare, who otherwise could not afford dental treatment. Dr. Lieu’s passion in helping patients transforming their smiles, educating them about their oral health, and the way she treats them in general, she was given a name “A dentist with an Angel’s hands.” Those who knows Dr. Lieu and are under her care would know how gentle, caring, and professional she is to her patients. Her goal is to develop trust and long-lasting relationships with all of her valuable patients.
