About William Hoffman
Dr. William Hoffman, chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, is a specialist in pediatric plastic surgery. His area of expertise includes the treatment of children with congenital and acquired deformities, such as cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis and other craniofacial syndromes, hemangioma and vascular anomalies, and giant nevi. His research interests include fetal cleft repairs, gene expression in hemangioma and outcomes of specific procedures for cleft palate.Hoffman is a graduate of Yale University and earned a medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He trained in general surgery and plastic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University. Hoffman is a professor of clinical surgery at UCSF.
