About William C. Althoff, DDS
Dr. William Althoff completed undergraduate work at Northern Illinois University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He was accepted at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago to attend a year of training in Medical Technology . Upon completion of his certification by The American Society of Clinical Pathologists, he worked as a Medical Technologist in the chemistry departments of the University of Illinois and later Lutheran General Medical Centers. In 1980 he was accepted by the Washington University Dental School in St Louis, attended for a month and transferred to the University of Illinois Dental School in Chicago where he graduated in 1984. He began his solo practice In Wheeling in August of that year.
