About Vincent B. Lam, MD
Vincent Lam, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, and ophthalmic plastic surgery. This specialty involves both the aesthetic and reconstructive surgery around the eyes, which includes the eyelids, tear duct system, and bones around the eye (orbit). Dr. Lam obtained his bachelors degree at Syracuse University in Biochemistry graduating summa cum laude. He then completed his medical doctoral degree at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine and performed his internship at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York. He went on to do a residency in Ophthalmology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia where he was appointed Chief Resident of Ophthalmology. His further interest in ophthalmic plastic surgery brought him to do a fellowship in the supersubspecialty of Ophthalmic and Orbital Surgery at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, one of the premier institutions in Asia. Dr. Lam is an assistant professor at Drexel University College of Medicine where he teaches medical students and Ophthalmology residents. He has authored medical articles, book chapters and given local and national presentations in the topics of Ophthalmology and Orbital and Ophthalmic plastic surgery. Dr. Lam is fluent in Chinese, Spanish (and English!). He is a active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
