About Valerie Barba, DDS
Dentistry is the greatest profession there is. I have a unique opportunity to help people in a vital and necessary way. While many may be fearful of dentistry, I have made it my goal to make it easy with a comfortable, soothing, calm environment where caring team members provide state-of-the-art care. We change lives, transform smiles, build self-confidence, and create a gateway to optimal health and wellness. And every day, we are given the gift of gratitude by so many unique and interesting people. In turn, our lives are enriched and we enjoy the circle of interaction and friendships forged along the way. I am very grateful to be able to have the opportunity to help my patients, working with each person to give individualized care that helps him or her achieve optimal health and wellness through a beautiful, healthy smile. When I empower them to be stewards of their own health and attain the smile of their dreams, they are truly thankful. It’s a fascinating way to work with and really get to know so many wonderful people. I really enjoy the relationships formed and the bonds we have as a dental family. A southern California native, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology from the University of California at Los Angeles, and attended the UCLA Dental School for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Staying current on research in dentistry and the most innovative treatments available is not only interesting, fun, and exciting, but also rewarding to bring the best the field has to offer. I participate in various continuing education courses in Philadelphia, New York City, and New Jersey, in addition to my memberships with the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society Study Club, Invisalign® Study Club, and Summit Study Club. My commitment to provide the latest dental services and to spread the word about what dentistry has to offer is of utmost importance. I have been married for over 27 years and have been blessed with four children, a beautiful daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. Grimace the cat and Lulu, our Cockatiel, keep us company as well. In my free time, I enjoy running and training for marathons, am passionate about health and fitness, and love music. I believe that we are all part of the greater whole in our community and share in the responsibility of enriching other’s lives, helping each other out, and providing a better quality of life for all the people we touch. I personally participate with the music ministry at St. Peters Church, where I am the Leader of Song and a choir member. I am also involved with the Jersey Shore Chamber of Commerce.
