About Tricia J. Brown, MD
Dr. Tricia Brown is a native Houstonian and comes from a long line of Texans. She actually pursued a degree in piano at Baylor University before changing her course in life to medical school. Dr. Brown received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine here in Houston. Her dermatology residency training was completed at OU (The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center), where she acquired diverse training in medical and surgical dermatology as well as numerous dermatological cosmetic procedures. Dr. Brown is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Throughout the years, she has written many manuscripts on the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease for medical journals. She now spends the majority of her professional time focused on patients and the treatment of their conditions. It is comforting to know that Dr. Brown prefers to integrate appropriate natural approaches in her care, depending on the patient's desires. Particularly when treating chronic conditions, she prefers to have a detailed discussion about various treatment options and decide on the best course of action together with the patient. Dr. Brown enjoys working as a team with the patient for optimal results, because everyone is coming from a different position in life and has different needs and goals. Although Dr. Brown spends much of her time with general and surgical dermatology, she has a special interest in the aesthetic aspects of her practice. She has received extensive training on countless cosmetic treatments for the skin, both during and after residency. Dr. Brown has been injecting Botox since 2000, several years before it was approved for cosmetic use and became a household name. She has also had years of experience with fillers before the current hyaluronic acid fillers even came to market. With this extensive experience through the years, she is particular about the products and methods that she utilizes on her patients, and she is completely honest with each of them about what is best for their condition. Despite this long history of experience, Dr. Brown thrives on perfecting her craft and knowledge with new techniques and takes every opportunity to advance her skills with updated training. Learning and perfecting is her passion, because if you aren't learning, you aren't growing. In her rare and precious spare time, Dr. Brown has been intent on learning the Spanish language. If you happen to be a Spanish speaker, please help her practice at your next appointment! She is also passionate about travel and has a long bucket list to tackle in this lifetime. Please note that she is always looking for more travel recommendations from her patients. This busy lady would love to do more cooking and gardening, but those hobbies will have to be put on hold for the most part until the next stage in life. Dr. Brown has lived in The Woodlands since 2008 with her husband of 25 years and their two kids. They have one crazy adorable labradoodle dog and two cats that just don't really care.
