About Sven N. Sandeen, MD
Sven N. Sandeen, MD is a cosmetic, plastic, and reconstructive surgeon. He attended the University of Arizona, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology, a split minor in chemistry, physics, and math. He also obtained an additional minor in Spanish. Dr. Sandeen lived abroad in Spain during his senior year and was also accepted into Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to attend the University of Arizona College of Medicine where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and was accepted into Alpha Omega Alpha medical honorary society. Prior to graduating, he traveled to Ecuador. While there, he spent time with a local surgeon performing rural surgery near Cuenca. Dr. Sandeen performed his general surgical internship and residency at the University of Rochester in New York. He then completed his plastic surgery residency at the same institution. His special interests throughout his training have been in cosmetic, reconstructive, and hand surgery. Surgical procedures, including both cosmetic and reconstructive, are performed by Dr. Sandeen at Northwest Tucson Surgery Center located on the campus of Northwest Medical Center. For those patients requiring or preferring a hospital setting, Dr. Sandeen is an active staff member at Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital and Carondelet Foothills Surgery Center. These facilities are fully accredited and anesthesia is administered only by board-certified anesthesiologists. Dr. Sandeen is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Hospital.
