About Sherman H. Telis, DDS
Dr. Telis attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his BA and DDS degrees. He has been practicing in Washington, D.C., since he graduated in 1976. Dr. Telis has performed thousands of porcelain veneers, bonded porcelain inlays and onlays, and porcelain bridges and crowns to not only restore his patients’ mouths but also give them confident smiles. He uses only bonded tooth-colored restorations and quiet drills. He is able to add subtle bits of color to achieve the most natural appearance. He believes in minimally invasive dentistry and has air abrasion available for drill-free fillings when appropriate. His patients feel relaxed and comfortable about their treatment and good about their appearance and their smiles. His wide recognition for creating beautiful, natural-looking veneers, crowns and implant-supported crowns is rooted in his ability to change many patients’ attitudes toward dentistry through his caring and gentle approach. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Dental Association® and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and actively pursues his professional advancement through high level continuing educational courses. He has received advanced training in occlusion and aesthetic dentistry. He stays abreast of the latest advances in dentistry out of his commitment to provide each patient with the most advanced level of care. His non-judgmental attitude enables patients to feel better about themselves, their treatment and their smiles. Outside of the office, Dr. Telis can often be found spending time with his family – his wife, Karen, is a lawye rand educator; his two sons, Alexander, who is a trauma surgeon, and Michael, who is a private lawyer. Dr. Telis also enjoys traveling and classic cars.
