About Shelley J. Halper, MD
Dr. Halper is a board certified dermatologist and a fellow member of The American Academy of Dermatology and The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Halper graduated Summa Cum Laude from City University of New York at Hunter College. She earned her M.D. from State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School in 1986. Dr. Halper had two years of training in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and completed her residency in Dermatology at The University of Chicago in 1991. Dr. Halper began private practice in 1991 with the creation of what is now known as Dermatology Associates of Lagrange. Dr. Halper has held many leadership roles with the medical community including several board memberships. She was selected as Practitioner of the Year 2016-2017 by the Chicago Dermatologic Society. Dr. Halper is currently serving as a board member of the Illinois Dermatologic Society. Her areas of interest are skin cancer surgery, cosmetics and complex medical dermatology.
