About Shawn Zahner, DMD
Dr. Shawn Zahner is a graduate of the University of Connecticut Dental School and received extra training with his General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital as well. Dr. Zahner is active in continuing education, especially in the areas of implant dentistry, dental surgery, and comprehensive oral rehabilitation. He is a member of a Dr. Frank Spear study club, teaches Critical Thinking at the University of Connecticut Dental School, and serves as attending faculty at the Hartford Hospital Dental Clinic. He is also a member of The American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Tolland County Dental Society. Dr. Shawn has pursued dentistry from a young age, as even middle school classmates might remember. His interests in biology, art, and service are uniquely suited for his profession. Whether he’s sculpting your front tooth or carving a pumpkin, his artistic eye and love for working with his hands is evident. The part he loves the most is helping patients overcome dental anxiety and feel relaxed during their dental procedures. Dr. Zahner provides surgical and rehabilitative dentistry in a caring manner. His goal is to give patients the comprehensive care they deserve in fewer appointments while minimizing anxiety. Dr. Zahner is an outdoor enthusiast, and in his free time, he can be found cycling, hiking, kayaking, or skiing. He plays guitar and enjoys photography and sculpture.
