About Sarai R. Nieves, DMD
Dr. Sarai Ruiz Nieves was born and raised on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She graduated with honors from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Ricoa in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in General Science and minor in Biology. In 2009, she obtained her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Ruiz furthered her education with a General Practice Residency and Hospital Dentistry at Ohio State University. Through her two-year residency program, she was able to perform full-mouth restoration, cosmetic cases and the restoration of implants. After her residency, she was also able to be part of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, expanding her dental care knowledge to comprehensively manage and treat children. Dr. Ruiz sees dentistry as one of her biggest passions. She understands that getting dental work can be overwhelming and tries to treat each patient with compassion to fulfill their needs. She and her husband moved to Connecticut in 2014, where she has been practicing since. They live in New Haven with their two dogs, Apollo and Falkor. In her spare time, Dr Ruiz enjoys training for marathons, traveling and hiking with her dogs. She also enjoys the occasional Star Trek marathon and the sporadic Netflix binge.
