About Ryan W. Hick, MD
Dr. Hick joined ProPath in 2009. He has served as a member of the Board since 2017. Dr. Hick is board certified in dermatology and dermatopathology. He has an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern. In addition to signing out skin specimens on a daily basis, he is an attending dermatologist at the Parkland Hospital Clinic weekly. He is actively involved in the American Society of Dermatopathology where he has served on several committees and is currently a member of the Health Policy and Work Value Committee as the American Society of Dermatopathology Advisor to the American Medical Association Resource-based relative value scale Update Committee. Dr. Hick served as secretary/treasurer and president of the Dallas Dermatological Society. He has also served on dermatopathology test committees for the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology. He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Hick obtained a B.S. from Brigham Young University where he studied Human Biology and Russian. He received his M.D. from Duke University where he went on to complete an internal medicine internship and dermatology residency. He was selected to serve as Chief Resident during his final year of residency training. He completed his fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Pennsylvania.
