About Robert J. Young, DDS
Dr. Robert Young is an expert in implants, veneers, and complex dental cases. He graduated from the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry in the top of his class and earned awards for his surgical prowess. Dr. Young then completed a full hospital-based residency at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, where he also taught residents for many years. Dr. Young then completed a two-year post-graduate program in implant surgery and Dental Crowns and Bridges/ denture placement over implants at the prestigious Misch Institute of Implantology, an institution which has been attended by only a small percentage of dentists. Dr. Young has a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Oral Implantology. He has also completed all necessary training for oral sedation and has completed all requirements for the administration of IV Sedation for his patients at St. Joseph's Medical Center, and can therefore provide both oral and IV sedation to nervous and apprehensive patients when necessary. All of Dr. Young’s staff is CPR trained and Dr. Young, for his patients’ safety has completed advanced training in acute cardiac care. He is also an ACLS certified doctor. Dr. Young has been named a top dentist by Consumers Report for the last ten years. He is on the staff of both the Jersey Shore Medical Center and the Southern Ocean Medical Center for the past twenty years, where he is the only general dentist. He has also served for twenty years as a research associate for the Clinical Research Center, developed by world-renowned dentist Dr. Gordon Christensen, performing clinical research on all new dental treatments and products. Dr. Young can offer the surgical placement of implants, socket preservation, grafts and ridge and sinus augmentations, and prosthetic restorations of dental implants (crowns, overdentures, custom abutments), provided by only a small percentage of highly educated doctors who have completed years of advanced post-graduate education for the convenience of our patients. Dr. Young is an expert in complete smile makeovers and cosmetic veneers. After an initial consultation, patients have the opportunity to see before-and-after photos of former patients and speak with these patients to get the full account of the excellence in care provided by Dr. Young and his team. Dr. Young knows he has a responsibility to provide high-quality dental care to the broader community as well as to those right here in Manahawkin. That’s why he has participated in global dental outreach programs throughout his career, like the one on Truk a couple of decades ago.
