About Robert A. Dorschner, MD
Robert Dorschner, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist who diagnoses and cares for adult general dermatology patients and performs minor surgeries. He treats all medical dermatologic conditions, from skin cancer to rashes, acne and warts. Dr. Dorschner trains residents and medical students at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He also conducts research on the regulation of inflammation in wounds and factors that control the switch between inflammation and repair. The aim of this research is to help uncover novel therapies for treating or preventing chronic wounds. He also has investigated the innate immune system in skin, elucidating factors important to fighting infection and modulating inflammatory responses. Dr. Dorschner completed a residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree. He is board certified in dermatology. He is a fellow of American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), and a member of the Society for Investigative Dermatology and the Wound Healing Society. In his spare time, Dr. Dorschner stays active through hiking, mountain biking and surfing. He also enjoys camping, fishing and cooking.
