About Rebecca M. Garza, MD
Rebecca Garza, MD, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with an expertise in breast cancer reconstruction and microsurgical treatment of lymphedema, a chronic swelling of the limbs that occurs in patients who have lymph nodes removed or receive radiation therapy during cancer treatments. Additionally, Dr. Garza performs reconstructive surgery for head and neck, extremity, and trunk conditions. She also performs aesthetic surgery of the face, breast and body. An active researcher, Dr. Garza has studied adipose-derived stem cells and fat grafting and published clinical research on lymphedema, burn immunology, craniofacial surgery and microsurgical breast reconstruction. Dr. Garza has volunteered for mission trips in the Philippines, Mexico, and Zimbabwe, providing surgical care to the underserved and educating local physicians in reconstructive surgery.
