About Ramon Garza, MD
Dr. Garza is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended The University of Texas – Pan American where he graduated Suma Cum Laude with Honors. He attended the nationally ranked Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he excelled in medical school. While in medical school he solidified his interest in plastic surgery after seeing the profound impact plastic surgeons have improving patients lives. He matched into the highly competitive Plastic Surgery Residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA. During his residency, he performed complex reconstructions including DIEP flaps, and from these experiences found his calling in complex breast reconstruction. To gain further knowledge and experience performing these procedures, he furthered his training by doing a microsurgery fellowship at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Here, he worked alongside world-renowned microsurgeons performing complex microsurgery including cutting edge lymphedema microsurgery as well as complex breast reconstruction, limb salvage, and head & neck cancer reconstructions. Dr. Garza joined PRMA in the summer of 2016. ""I am excited to join a group that shares my passion for patient care and excellence,"" says Dr. Garza. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and outdoor activities including: hiking, golfing, and fishing. He looks forward to meeting you and is excited to serve the San Antonio community as well as patients from afar.
