Dr. Norman Weinzweig is Double Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery. As the Founder of the Chicago Institute for Hand Surgery and Rehabilitation, Dr. Weinzweig specializes in the treatment of fingertip injuries, multiple digit replantations and mutilated hand reconstruction. Highly regarded by his peers for his clinical experience in acute and chronic care of severely traumatized hand injuries, Dr. Weinzweig treats patients from Chicago, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa. Dr. Weinzweig has a very personal approach to patient care. From patients with simple hand conditions that only require non-operative treatment to very complex injuries that may require microsurgical expertise he takes the time to understand each patient's unique circumstances in order to recommend the best treatment option. Dr. Weinzweig has published over 104 articles in peer-reviewed journals, 38 book chapters, 87 scientific abstracts, 5 educational videotapes, and over 250 regional, national and international presentations. He has also been awarded the America's Leading Expert award from Vitals. This award is given to physicians who are proficient publishers on a specific disease, disorder, or medical condition. In 2007, Norman Weinzweig, MD served as the President of the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgeons.
