About Niki G. Maghami, DDS
Dr. Maghami completed her Bachelors in Science with a high distinction in Biochemistry and Masters in Molecular Biology in 1996 while earning a multitude of awards and distinctive honors. Her passion in health, science, and artistry led her to pursue post doctorate education in dentistry. She successfully completed her DDS from University of Illinois at Chicago. Her strong work ethics and excellent interpersonal relationships earned her the Gerald L. Wine Scholarship. After graduation she moved to Los Angeles with her husband and accepted a position in the Advanced Prosthodontics Residency Program at VA West Los Angeles Medical Center; a three-year intensive program focusing on esthetics, replacing missing and broken teeth, and implant dentistry. She later completed a one-year fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at University of California, Los Angeles (“UCLA”) with an emphasis on rehabilitation of patients with intra-oral/ extra-oral defects. Dr. Maghami achieved Board Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Maghami served full-time as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Dentistry in the division of Advanced Prosthodontics, Biomaterials and Hospital Dentistry. From 2008-2012 she chaired a number of courses while practicing at UCLA’s Faculty Group Dental Practice. As an example of her leadership in the field she co-authored a chapter in Maxillofacial Rehabilitation, Surgical and Prosthetic Management of Cancer-Related, Acquired, and Congenital Defects of Head and Neck. She currently lectures and works with post doctorates dentists at UCLA and practices at two leading private dental practices. She maintains her professional excellence by taking ongoing continuing education to stay current with changes in practice of dentistry. She is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, and Academy of Osseointergration for more than a decade. While staying active in the academic setting, she concentrates on actively working with her local dental community to promote a multi-discipline/specialization approach to her treatment planning in order to provide the best care for her patients and their smiles. Her dedication to fulfill patients' desires and her commitment to oral health makes her admired by her peers and loved by her patients.
