About Nevin Tien, DDS
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dr. Tien, received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1999. He then enriched his interest in Biochemical Engineering Research and received a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2000, before pursuing a career in dentistry. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2005, graduating in the top third of his class. Dr. Tien completed his training in a 6 year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program at New York University Medical Center, which included Bellevue Hospital Center and the VA Manhattan Hospital. He obtained his Medical Degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 2009 and completed one year of general surgery where he was exposed to the fields of vascular, cardiothoracic, general and plastic surgery, internal medicine and the surgical intensive care unit. Dr. Tien has received extensive training in anesthesia, dental implantology, bone grafting, dentoalveolar surgery, jaw reconstruction, facial trauma and head and neck pathology. Dr. Tien also completed a one-year accredited facial cosmetic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Institute of Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Tien performs both traditional oral surgery and facial cosmetics procedures such as botox and filler, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, rhytidectomy, facial lesion and scar removal, otoplasty, and brow lift as well as cheek and chin implants. He currently holds attending privileges at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. He is board certified in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Facial Cosmetic Surgery and a member of many professional organization including the D.C. Dental Society. Dr. Tien was a college athlete and continues to remain physically active when he is not in the office. He is also a big Baltimore Ravens fan.
