About Nancy E. Franklin, MD
I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I attended Harvard Medical School. I did an internship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by my dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco. I have practiced at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek and Pleasanton since 1992. I am a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association. I chose Kaiser Permanente because I wanted to work in a multispecialty group where physicians could take the lead in decision making. I like practicing in a system that stresses prevention and allows me to make treatment decisions without “gate keepers”. I am married and have a young son. All my free time is devoted to my family. I volunteer at my son's school, and my husband and I enjoy activities with our son such as soccer, skiing, and baseball.
