About Mustafa Shah-Khan, DDS
Dr. Mustafa Shah-Khan was born and raised in Morganton, North Carolina. He received bachelor's degrees in chemistry from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Shah-Khan is a dean's list graduate from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Shah-Khan also completed clinical externships in pediatric dentistry with The San Francisco Department of Public Health and in hospital dentistry with the Carolina's Medical Center General Practice Residency program. A lifelong learner, Dr. Shah-Khan's training has continued since graduation. He spends significant amounts of time participating in advanced continuing education courses under the direction of the nation's leading dental educators. Dr. Shah-Khan has trained under Dr. Frank Spear with the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry as well as with Dr. Peter Dawson of the Dawson Center for Continuing Education. Currently, Dr. Shah-Khan is affiliated with the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry and has been a member of the prestigious Spear Faculty Club, a group composed of 300 of the leading cosmetic and restorative dentists from the United States, Canada and Europe. This level of continuing education allows Dr. Shah-Khan to remain at the forefront of dentistry and complete cases from the simple to the most advanced reconstructions. He has served on the board of directors of the UNC School of Dentistry Dental Alumni Association. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society and the Charlotte Dental Society.
