Dr. Monica Crooks graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry, where she served as a board member of student admissions and worked part-time as a phlebotomist at UCLA Medical Center. After completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, she went on to complete a General Practice Residency through the USAF at David Grant Medical Center, where she was further trained in all dental specialties. Dr. Monica Crooks separated from the USAF with the rank of Major to establish her private general and cosmetic dental practice in Sacramento. Dr. Crooks has been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since 1990. She takes a comprehensive approach to dentistry that begins with the establishment of sound dental health and continues with maintenance and perfection of your valuable smile. Dr. Crooks has dedicated herself to continued education so that she can remain at the forefront of advancing technologies, thus ensuring that her patients have the best care available in the profession. Dr. Monica Crooks has trained at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI) and through Den-Mat, Inc.’s innovative Destination Education. She received cosmetic dentistry training under world-renowned Drs. Rosenthal and Rinaldi in Manhattan, NY, and under Dr. Bill Dorfman, the developer of Zoom whitening systems. She trained under Dr. Robert Bar and received a certification in the use of Soft Tissue Lasers through Biolase Corp. Her continuing education as a cosmetic dentist is exhaustive. She combines all this prestigious knowledge and experience with her own artistic skills, creative mind, and delicate dexterity to provide you with the best cosmetic dental treatment plan to resolve your unique dental concerns and ensure your result is the perfect smile for you. Dr. Crooks is the daughter of an Air Force Master Sergeant who blessed her with the opportunity to grow up traveling the world. Dr. Crooks graduated from high school in Japan and was fluent in Japanese when she left that country. Dr. Crooks began her undergraduate studies at the University of Dundee in Scotland, and she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from UC San Bernardino. Attesting to her exceptional academic excellence, Dr. Crooks was one of only two undergraduate students in the entire Western region of the United States to earn the esteemed Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Award that paid for her dental schooling at any dental school of her choice in the United States. When Dr. Crooks is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys a plethora of artistic passions including photography, fashion design and painting. Her paintings have been exhibited in a number of local galleries. Lately she has taken voice lessons, and has been performing live at local venues around town. Having mastered salsa dance, Dr. Crooks aspires to learn flamenco and tango in the near future. Dr. Crooks loves languages and has a workable mastery of Spanish and German.
