About Mihwa Kang, Aesthetician Specialist
Mihwa gained experience at several well-known spas in Silicon Valley before founding HFBC in Cupertino, California. Her professional career started as a handmade soap maker selling her all-natural aromatherapy soaps and skin care products at local farmer’s markets. When customers asked her questions about skin care, she realized that she needed a comprehensive education and training to service her customers better. She enrolled in a beauty school to become a licensed aesthetician and then later enrolled at a massage therapy school to hone her manual therapy techniques. She is also a certified Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage & Combined Decongestive Therapist, and most recently completed training to became a certified health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (New York). Mihwa was born and raised in Osaka, Japan as a second-generation ethnic Korean and deeply appreciates both Korean and Japanese cultures. She especially enjoys visiting Kyoto, Japan where she spent four years of her college life studying architectural design and cultivated life long friendships with her peers. She moved to Silicon Valley in 1996 with her British husband. Initially she felt lost in the beginning, but eventually found soap making as a way to satisfy her creativity. Soap making opened up multiple doors in her life not only for skin care, but also wellness, environmental issues, diets, animal welfare, and more. Mihwa resides in Cupertino with her supportive husband, two beautiful teen aged children and a little chiweenie dog called Hamish.
