About Michael S. Risin, MD
Michael S. Risin, M.D. is a Harvard trained and Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon. Dr. Risin graduated number one in his class at the University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude in biochemistry and biophysics. During his time at the University of Houston, Dr. Risin performed research in cell and cancer biology and immunology at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Risin received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, where he studied under the leading minds and innovators of medicine in the United States. Throughout his years at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Risin continued his research. He received a grant from the American Brain Tumor Foundation. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Risin had the opportunity to learn from the leading innovators in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He received his General and Plastic Surgery training from the prestigious integrated Plastic Surgery residency program at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to Plastic Surgery, Dr. Risin completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery as well as Microsurgery. Dr. Risin's groundbreaking research on body sculpting, including post-bariatric surgery and massive weight loss has been presented at national meetings, and his work has appeared in the national media. Dr. Risin specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. He developed a comprehensive program of postpartum rejuvenation for women. His innovative program restores the female body after childbearing.
