About Matthew Kilgo
Dr. Matthew Kilgo is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon and has been a partner at Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) since 2005. Dr. Kilgo graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology from Loyola University of Chicago in 1989 and later received his MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He went on to complete a general surgery internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. After residency, Dr. Kilgo received additional general surgical training with a focus on breast and vascular surgery at the Gloucestershire Hospitals in the United Kingdom, where he served as a visiting surgical fellow for one year. After that, he completed a plastic surgery residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine followed by an additional year of fellowship training in cancer reconstruction at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.Dr. Kilgo has authored publications and given presentations on diverse topics in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery and body contouring. He offers the full range of reconstructive techniques after mastectomy including microvascular breast reconstruction, one and two-stage implant reconstruction and oncoplastic breast reconstruction. Dr. Kilgo also has extensive experience with cosmetic breast and body procedures including primary and secondary breast augmentation, breast lift/reduction surgery, tummy tucks, liposuction and the “Mommy Makeover” procedure.
