About Martin Reichel, MD
Dr. Reichel is a graduate of Harvard College. He attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he received his M.D. with distinction in Microbiology and Immunology. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Reichel was a resident in Dermatology at the University of California, Davis where he served as chief resident. He thereupon completed a fellowship in dermatopathology with A. Bernard Ackerman, M.D. at the New York University Skin and Cancer Unit and a fellowship in Clinical and laboratory Dermatological Immunology also at N.Y.U. He is board certified in Dermatology (1992), has the special qualification recognized by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology in Dermatopathology (1993), and the special qualification in Clinical and Laboratory Dermatological Immunology (1997). Dr. Reichel was recruited to Westwood Dermatology in 2005, where he serves as Laboratory Director and is involved in all aspects of diagnostic dermatopathology. Dr. Reichel is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the International Society of Dermatopathology, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology, College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University where he is an Attending and former Tumor Board Director. He has written numerous papers and is a co-author of the authoritative textbook, Histologic Diagnosis of Inflammatory Skin Diseases.
