Dr6 and team are absolutely amazing. From the beginning with communication, information & consultations; to the end of surgery & follow ups. They provide the best possible service while making you feel at ease through the entire process, prioritizing patient safety & knowledge. —Jessica B.,Overall Care Review
I couldn’t be happier with my results. I had scars on my belly from an emergency appendectomy & open laparotomy that caused an asymmetrical appearance to my abdomen. Dr 6ix expertly removed the areas of excess skin that contained these old scars & my new scar line is low and has healed beautifully. —Seacgo R.,Abdominal Scar Reconstruction
Honestly took a while to get a consultation but was thrilled with how well the team treated me and the overall experience. They patiently answered all questions & walked me through the surgery. Their ability to put me at ease and the fact that he is an incredible surgeon made all the difference! —Kenji N.,Overall Care Review

The consultation fee allows you to reserve time with our consult expert, to have a one on one chat and get our expert opinion. If you choose to book a cosmetic surgery procedure with us, the fee will go towards the cost of your surgery. If you decide not to proceed, we donate the money to Breast Cancer Research.
What is the 2 Week Cut-Off?
In order to properly prepare for your procedure, we require that all forms, consents, bloodwork (if required) and payments are due no later than two weeks before the surgery. If we are unable to obtain all the required information and payment by this time, we will be forced to reschedule you to a later date. A rescheduling fee of $500 will apply.
Why is it important to have a consultation?
Everybody is physically unique. For the safest, most aesthetically pleasing results, cosmetic surgery treatments must be tailored specifically to each individual patient. To receive personalized advice for your body, it is therefore important that you schedule a consultation with our Consult Expert. During your consultation, we will asses your concerns, medical needs and health, before recommending the best approach to meet your goals.
Who is a suitable for candidate for surgery?
The best candidates are people who are in good overall health and non-smokers. Good candidates must also have all the information, fully understand what the surgery involves and its limitations, and have a realistic expectation. Each procedure is designed to address specific cosmetic needs; in order to determine whether you are a suitable candidate for any particular procedure, you will need to be assessed by Dr. Jugenburg. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are not normally considered for any treatment until after they have finished nursing and their bodies have stopped changing. Patients receiving Body Contouring, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, or other similar procedures will be expected to be at or near their ideal weight before treatment, as weight fluctuations will make it difficult for Dr. Jugenburg to control the final outcome.
Is there an age limit for cosmetic surgery or treatment?
In general, you are never too old to have a cosmetic procedure. Age is not a deciding factor, your overall health is. Anybody, regardless of age, may be a good candidate for a treatment providing they are healthy, in good physical shape, and understands the risks associated with the procedure. However, a patient must be at least 18 years old for all cosmetic procedures if there is no medical reason as to why the procedure should be carried out sooner.
Where will my consultation with Dr. Jugenburg take place?
Most consultations regarding cosmetic procedures are held at our clinic within the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. You will be given an opportunity to browse through our extensive photo gallery of relevant cosmetic results in previous patients, view our state-of-the-art facilities, and meet with our team of friendly and experienced staff.
How Much will my procedure cost?
There are often many different variables in a cosmetic procedure that must be tailored to suit the specific needs of each patient. In order for Dr. Jugenburg to create an individualized treatment plan for you and determine the cost that will be incurred, you will need to schedule a consultation at our clinic.
Will the cost of my procedure be covered by health insurance?
Most cosmetic procedures are elective and therefore not covered by medical insurance. However, in some cases, when there is a medical need for a surgery, Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP) or private medical health insurance may cover or partly cover the costs. The following procedures are, for example, covered or partly covered by OHIP: Breast Implant Removal, Breast Reconstruction, Breast Reduction, Gynecomastia, Panniculectomy, and Revision Surgery (of other surgeon's work). To find out whether your procedure may be covered, please contact your health insurance provider; however, you will be unable to provide all the required information until after your consultation with Dr. Jugenburg.
Where will my treatment or surgery take place?
Cosmetic procedures are performed primarily at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel within our fully equipped, state-of-the-art Operating Room. The Operating Room has been designed and built to meet and exceed the latest guidelines for surgical facilities in Ontario. A Recovery Area is also outfitted with the latest medical technology to ensure the safety and comfort of every patient. In some cases, a procedure may be done at the Humber River Regional Hospital if a patient requests, if there is a medical concerns that requires hospital settings, or if a treatment is partly covered by Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP). Any procedure that is covered or partly covered by OHIP cannot take place in a private setting.
What do I need to do to prepare for my surgery or treatment?
Dr. Jugenburg and his staff will provide you with detailed pre-operative instructions at an appropriate time prior to your procedure. It is a good idea to prepare your affairs and schedule in advance, so that you can completely relax and rest after any significant surgery. All patients receiving general anesthesia during a surgical procedure must also: Arrange for someone to bring you to the clinic and to collect you after the surgery - you will not be allowed to leave by yourself. Make sure you have someone who can spend the first 24 hours after the surgery with you, to ensure your safety - you must not be left alone.
How long will my recovery be?
The length of recovery and downtime required after a cosmetic procedure will vary between patients and treatment types. Recovery will depend largely on the area of the body that is treated, the extent of work that is done, and whether the treatment is non-surgical or requires invasive surgery. All patients who have had a non-surgical procedure or a minor surgical procedure will be able to leave the clinic after their treatment. Where as, patients receiving more extensive surgical procedures that require general anesthesia can choose to spend their first night after surgery staying in one of the luxurious rooms at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel at an additional fee pending availability. For BBL patients this is included at no extra charge. Extensive surgical procedures normally require several weeks or more of recovery. In all cases, patients will be given post-operative or post-treatment guidelines that they must follow during the recovery phase to ensure optimal healing and results.
Are there any risks or complications associated with my procedure?
Non-surgical procedures, such as the injection of Botox or Dermal Fillers, generally carry a very low risk of minor complications, such as irritation, redness and/or minor bruising, swelling and/or discomfort. Some patients are, however, more at risk from severe allergic reactions. Cosmetic surgical procedures are associated with the normal risks and complications of any routine surgery, such as adverse effects from general anesthesia, infection and bleeding. Different cosmetic procedures are also associated with various special considerations that must be taken into account. Dr. Jugenburg’s meticulous surgical technique, our expert team of support staff, and the use of state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and a carefully controlled sterile environment, mean that serious complications are very unlikely.
Will I have any follow-up appointments after my procedure?
Patients having non-surgical procedures, such as the injection of Botox or Dermal Fillers, will need to return to the clinic as recommended by Dr. Jugenburg for maintenance of their cosmetic results. Patients having surgical procedures will have follow-up appointments after their surgery to allow our expert nurses and/or Dr. Jugenburg to change dressings, remove staples or stitches, and monitor healing and progress.
How soon will I see results?
A degree of aesthetic transformation is normally seen immediately after most cosmetic procedures. However, how soon the final, optimal results are seen will vary significantly between treatments. Non-surgical procedures, such as the injection of Dermal Fillers, typically have immediate results and minimal signs of treatment. However, the injection of Botox can take up to 2 weeks for maximum effects to be seen.Surgical procedures necessarily involve more trauma to the areas that are treated, and can lead to significant swelling and bruising. It can therefore take a number of weeks for the swelling to subside and even longer for the treatment area to settle down before the final, optimal results are seen. Immediately after surgery, a patient’s wounds are normally dressed and bandaged, and supporting garments sometimes worn on or around the treatment areas.
Will I have scars after my procedure?
Non-surgical procedures, such as the injection of Botox and Dermal Fillers, will not lead to scarring and involve the use of specialized, ultra-fine needles only. All surgical procedures require that one or more incisions be made on or near the area being treated. The size and number of incisions will depend on the specific surgery that is being done. Dr. Jugenburg always uses advanced techniques to meticulously close these wounds and is an expert at creating minimal scarring. Wherever possible, Dr. Jugenburg always chooses incision placements where the resulting scars are either beautifully concealed within the natural contours of a patient’s body or easily hidden by clothing.
Are some people more prone to scarring?
All scars are visible immediately following surgery (non-surgical treatments do not lead to scarring). Scars will initially appear red and normally a little raised, but over 3 – 6 months they usually fade and flatten out, becoming thin, barely visible lines. Many patients heal with virtually invisible scars, while some are more prone to prominent scarring. Past scarring from previous injuries and/or surgeries may be indicative of how prone an individual may be to visible scarring and can influence the decision on where best to make an incision during surgery. At an appropriate time after all healing has taken place, Dr. Jugenburg may also advise that some patients apply the silicone-based skin gel Kelocote, which we will provide, to further minimize their scarring.
