About Maria Upshaw, DMD
Since 2000, Dr. Upshaw has helped her patients develop healthy, beautiful smiles. Her mission is to provide exceptional dental care with the latest advancements the field has to offer. She creates a warm and welcoming environment and aims to be the best caregiver she can be. Communicating during appointments and enhancing patient comfort as requested is how she makes sure each patient leaves feeling their best. When she isn’t helping people develop a healthy and beautiful smile, she is either spending time with her husband and three children or participating in community activities and outdoor sports. Dr. Upshaw earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2000 and has been practicing dentistry in Florida for over fifteen years. She also holds a dental degree from Venezuela, where she was born. She mentored under Dr. Daniel Bertoch for many years, during which she built up her understanding of cosmetic dentistry. She ran her own practice from 2009 to 2015, when she sold it to her partner in practice, Dr. Ferrara. She is an active member of the Spears Study Club, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, and Hillsborough County Dental Association.
