About Madeleine J. Gust, MD
I love learning about people’s problems and finding the best way to help them, whether through surgery or through nonsurgical means. I love working with members of all ages. My youngest members have been only a few days old, and my oldest member was over 100 years old!I grew up in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio, and in Richmond, Virginia. I headed west to study biology at Stanford University, where I received my bachelor’s degree. I finished medical school at UCLA, during which time I met my husband. I obtained my plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Northwestern University in Chicago. I completed my hand surgery and microsurgical fellowship at USC.I am a plastic surgeon with specialization in hand surgery. My passions include helping restore form and function to the hands of our members with congenital hand differences, hand trauma, and common conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis of the hand. I have a special interest in injuries and compressions of nerves in the upper and lower extremities. I also enjoy general plastic surgery, including reconstruction after cancer, trauma, or congenital defects. My life has a great balance of caring for members and spending time with my family. I spend my free time hiking, biking, swimming, and general having fun with my husband, daughter, son, and our loyal family Labrador retriever. I am also very close to my parents, who play an important role in our children’s lives.
