About Kyle T. Amber, MD
Dr. Kyle Amber practices in the Department of Dermatology at UI Health. Dr. Amber’s clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune blistering diseases, and complex medical dermatology. Dr. Amber runs the skin immunology lab at UI Health, where he studies the role of the immune system in autoimmune blistering diseases, including pemphigus, pemphigoid, epidermolysis bullosa acquisita; he is particularly interested in the role of eosinophils, a cell seen in allergy, in bullous pemphigoid, a rare skin condition that causes fluid-filled blisters. Dr. Amber is interested in developing evidence-based approaches to managing comorbidities in patients with blistering diseases, such as steroid-induced osteoporosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and opportunistic infections.
