About Kristen E. Dunbar, MD
Kristen E. Dunbar, M.D. is a reconstructive and cosmetic oculoplastic surgeon and board-certified ophthalmologist. Her areas of expertise include reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the eyelid and periorbital area, management of tear drainage issues, Mohs reconstruction, eyelid and orbital tumors, orbital surgery, orbital trauma, thyroid eye disease, and facial rejuvenation. Dr. Dunbar provides exceptional eyecare to Omni patients at the following offices of Iselin, Rochelle Park, and West Orange. After receiving a B.S. in Biology from the University of Virginia, Dr. Dunbar received her medical degree from Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia. She served as chief resident in general ophthalmology at Tufts Medical Center and New England Eye Center where she served as an editor to Ocular Surgery News. Dr. Dunbar completed a surgical fellowship, accredited by the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital, the same prestigious program where James Milite, M.D. and Elizabeth Maher, M.D. trained. In addition, she served as an Assistant Attending at Weill-Cornell Medical Center, the Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University Medical Center, New York University Hospital, and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Dunbar is a clinical instructor at New York University Medical Center where she trains ophthalmology residents. Dr. Dunbar has published numerous research papers, book chapters, and lectured at ophthalmology conferences across the country. In addition to her practice, she is an avid tennis player, earning a NCAA Division I scholarship, enjoys hiking and spending time with her family. Dr Dunbar and her husband reside in New York with their young daughter.
