About Keith F. Grote, DMD
Dr. Grote (pronounced grow-tee) has a long and loyal history with the Davis Community. He graduated from Davis High School in 1981 and attended UC Davis before going to Boston University for dental school and a post-doctoral residency. Dentistry has been a life-long passion. He still remembers the first time he saw a cavity removed and the tooth restored with a filling — he knew he had discovered his destiny. Today, Dr. Grote enjoys having the opportunity to provide the absolute highest standard of dental care available. Dr. Grote has attained clinical excellence by continuing his education every year since dental school. He averages more than 50 hours of continuing education per year, double the state requirement for licensure. He has attended the Pankey Institute for Dental Education and is a 12-year member of the Northern California Dental Forum, a Seattle Study Club affiliate. The entire team is dedicated to providing the latest proven preventive techniques and learning effective ways to inspire patients to make healthy choices. Our practice was established in 1971 by Dr John Legakis. He retired in 2004 and handed the reins to Dr. Grote with utmost trust. Dr. Legakis continues to be active in Davis and was adamant about his successor being integrated into Davis' tightly knit community. Among other things, Dr. Grote served for 10 years as a coach in Davis Little League, has been the team photographer for baseball, basketball, and football teams, and continues to be an avid supporter of high school sports programs. He enjoys being part of a community that cares so much about quality of life. With over 40 years of continuous service to our neighbors, we look forward to being your local connection to excellent dental and oral health.
