About Josh Surowitz, MD

Dr. Josh Surowitz is a board certified and fellowship trained surgeon specializing in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Josh SurowitzDr. Josh Surowitz. As an undergraduate at the University of Miami, he studied biomedical engineering. He continued his medical education at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where he was bestowed the prestigious Heusner Pupil Award by his peers. He completed a five-year residency in Head and Neck Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded the William Shockley Silver Owl award for excellence in teaching and the Mark C. Weissler Iron Man award for “going above and beyond”. Following residency, he was accepted into one of the top fellowships in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He received extensive training in the full breadth of facial plastic surgery including facelift, rhinoplasty, hair transplantation, and minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation, injectables and laser treatments. Dr. Josh Surowitz’ goal is to provide state of the art personalized patient care with outstanding results. A perpetual student himself, he remains committed to research, education, and leadership. He has published articles on scar revision, rhinoplasty, and facial reconstruction in Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America, JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Josh Surowitz is also active in the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, serving as a member of multiple committees related to trends in technology, research, and community outreach to combat domestic abuse. He has also served as a peer-reviewer for JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Surowitz is excited to collaborate with Dr. Garcia to provide industry-leading facial plastic and reconstructive surgical care to the greater Charlotte area. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and son.
