About Jonathan Penchas, DMD
Dr. Jonathan Penchas is a seasoned dentist and expert. He is founder of Midtown Dentistry™ and Prosthodontic specialist. Though he’s now in Houston, Dr. Jonathan Penchas was born in Jerusalem, offering him the opportunity to be educated around the world. He attended schools in London, Jerusalem, Boston, Louisiana, and Texas. He received his D.M.D degree from Hebrew University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class and was awarded the student award for excellence in restorative dentistry. Dr. Penchas’ parents currently live in Tel Aviv, Israel. There are only 3,200 prosthodontists in the United States, and Dr. Penchas is one of them. He completed his specialization in prosthodontics — the field of dentistry related to artificial dental appliances — at Louisiana State University. Simultaneously, Dr. Penchas earned his Master’s in education at The University of New Orleans. Dr. Penchas completed a fellowship in dental oncology (cancer treatment) and maxillofacial prosthetics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He’s widely published, and his first article ran in the Journal of Dentistry for Children during his senior year in dental school. Since then, Dr. Penchas has continued to publish articles and routinely gives seminars to dentists, technicians, and the general public. From 1995-96, Dr. Penchas was a full-time clinical assistant professor of prosthodontics at the University of Texas. He was a WREB (Western Regional Examining Board) dental program examiner from 2010 to 2012. In his free time, Dr. Penchas enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, beekeeping, and scuba diving.
