About Jon D. Nickelsen, DDS
Nickelsen Family Dental is under the the direction of Dr. Jon Nickelsen, who has been practicing dentistry for more than 13 years. He established Nickelsen Family Dental on the west side of Elgin where he was raised and where his father, Dr. Dale Nickelsen, practiced dentistry for more than 40 years. He earned his bachelor of science degree in microbiology from Miami of Ohio and his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Dr. Nickelsen volunteers his time to advance general, technical and scientific education in the field of dentistry. Currently serving as trustee for the Illinois State Dental Society, he also is past president of the Fox Valley Dental Society and maintains membership with the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society and Elgin Dental Study Club. He has received numerous awards for his leadership in dentistry, including the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence, the Omnicron Kappa Upsilon Research Award and the William J. Greek Memorial Leadership Award, which recognizes a new member of the Illinois State Dental Society who has demonstrated outstanding professional leadership. Active in continuing his education and professional development, Dr. Nickelsen achieved certification as a Invisalign provider. His dedication to leadership and excellence allows him to provide quality care to his patients.
