About Jessica R. Ransom, DDS
Dr. Ransom was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She moved to West Lafayette, Indiana at the start of high school. Having an engineering professor as a father, Dr. Ransom followed in his footsteps to pursue an engineering degree. A solid foundation in engineering gave Dr. Ransom excellent preparation for dental school. In 1998, she began her dental education through Indiana University. A strong interest in oral surgery and helping the less fortunate led Dr. Ransom to accept a position with Detroit Community Health Connection, a non-profit medical complex in Detroit, Michigan. This opportunity gave Dr. Ransom experience treating medically-compromised patients, expectant mothers, children, and a great deal of surgical knowledge. In 2006, Dr. Ransom decided to pursue a goal she had since early college and that was to move to Texas. She also decided that changing location was the perfect time to ""take some time off"". She always wanted to learn Spanish and decided to attend an ""immersion"" program in Puebla Mexico for several months. During her stay in Puebla Mexico, she had the opportunity to spend some time in an oral surgery office. What began as a 1-3 month stay, soon became 6 months and it was time to get back to the US and get back to work. It was great to finally be in Texas! Dr. Ransom had a wonderful opportunity to work for Dr.Gloria Phillips, a local pediatric dentist for almost 2 years. In addition, she worked at UTMB with the dental students. In 2008, she decided to pursue opening her own dental office in Missouri City, Texas with her husband Eduardo. Dr. Ransom and Eduardo have enjoyed serving on several humanitarian aid mission trips to provide dentistry to the under-served. In the past years, the office has grown and so has Dr.Ransom’s family. The family now includes 3 active little boys. Dr. Ransom loves what she does (smile renovation) and likes to make people’s smile perfect and bright at Rocky Creek Dental Care.
